Orthodontic Payment Plans and Insurance in Hershey, PA
Reviewed by Dr. Susan Korch, DMD, MS
Korch Orthodontics offers interest free payment plans with a down payment and monthly installments, a discount for paying in full, and a family discount when more than one member is in treatment. We file your insurance claims for you, and FSA and HSA funds can be applied to your care.
Orthodontic treatment is a real expense, and most families need to spread it out. That is normal, and we have built our payment options around it rather than treating it as an exception.
This page explains how paying for treatment actually works here: the plans available, what your fee covers, and how we handle your insurance. If what you want is the price, that is on our treatment cost page.
Payment Plans
No two families budget the same way. At your first consultation we walk through each option and help you pick one.
Interest free monthly payments. You make a down payment, then spread the balance across monthly installments. There is no interest added. We set the amount together once we know your total fee and how long treatment will take. Payments are administered through OrthoBanc®, which handles the drafting and scheduling.
Full payment discount. If you pay your treatment fee in full at the start by cash or check, we discount it.
Family discount. When more than one family member is in treatment, additional savings apply. Ask us about it if a second child is close to starting.
Automatic drafts. Payments can come straight from your checking account or credit card, so nothing depends on remembering a due date or posting a check. We accept most major credit cards.
What Your Treatment Fee Includes
This is one of the most common questions we get, and it is the right question to ask any orthodontist before comparing quotes.
Your fee covers:
- Diagnostic records and X-rays. The digital images and records used to plan your treatment.
- All appliances. Braces, aligners, or whatever else your plan calls for.
- Every office visit. Regular adjustments, progress checks, and routine comfort visits.
- One set of retainers, provided when treatment finishes, to hold your result.
A lower quote that excludes retainers or bills per visit is not a lower quote. Ask what is inside the number.
Making Your Insurance Work
If you have orthodontic coverage, we do the paperwork.
- We verify your benefits before treatment begins, so you know your real out-of-pocket cost up front rather than discovering it later.
- We submit claims on your behalf.
- We explain how your benefits apply to your plan, in plain terms.
We work with most major orthodontic insurance plans. Orthodontic benefits usually work as a lifetime maximum rather than a yearly one, which is worth understanding before you start, and we will walk you through what yours looks like.
If you have no orthodontic coverage, you are in the same position as many of our patients, and the interest free plan above is built for exactly that.
Tax Advantaged Accounts
Orthodontic treatment is generally an eligible medical expense for:
- FSA, a Flexible Spending Account
- HSA, a Health Savings Account
Paying with pre-tax dollars lowers what treatment effectively costs you. If you need documentation for reimbursement, ask and we will provide it.
What Treatment Costs
For planning purposes, treatment fees run about $3,500 for limited treatment to $9,000 for more complex cases.
Your exact fee depends on the complexity of your bite, the type of treatment recommended, and how long treatment is expected to take. At your consultation we give you a personalized figure, in writing, before you commit to anything.
Your first exam is free. For a fuller breakdown, including how we compare with published figures across the Harrisburg area, see our guide to treatment costs.
Clear Communication, No Surprises
You will know your total fee, your monthly amount, and your insurance contribution before treatment starts. There are no hidden charges and no fees that appear partway through.
That is not a promise about being the cheapest option. It is a promise that the number we give you is the number.

Frequently Asked Questions
Whether you’re considering braces for your child or clear aligners like Spark for yourself, our goal is to make treatment affordable, predictable, and comfortable.
Below, are answers to common questions patients in Hershey, PA ask about orthodontic costs and payment options.
Do you offer a low down payment option?
We can adjust the down payment and monthly amount to fit your budget within reason. Bring your constraints to the consultation and we will build the plan around them rather than handing you a fixed schedule.
How do I find out what my insurance covers before I come in?
You can call your dental insurance provider directly, but you do not have to. Give us your insurance details and we will verify your orthodontic benefits for you, then review them with you at your consultation.
Can I use an FSA or HSA and a payment plan at the same time?
Yes. Many families put FSA or HSA funds toward the down payment and finance the balance monthly. We will help you sequence it so you do not lose unused plan funds at year end.
What happens if my treatment takes longer than planned?
Your fee covers your treatment, including the visits and adjustments along the way. If your case runs longer than estimated, your monthly plan is adjusted rather than your total fee increasing.
Do you accept payment from two separated households?
Yes, this comes up often and it is not awkward. We can split billing between two payers. Tell us at the consultation and we will set it up before treatment starts.
