Virtual Orthodontic Consultation

Reviewed by Dr. Susan Korch, DMD, MS

Send us five photos of your smile from your phone and Dr. Susan Korch will review them, tell you what treatment would likely involve, and outline your options. It takes a few minutes, it happens before you drive anywhere, and it costs nothing.

Not everyone wants to book an appointment to find out whether they need one.

A virtual consultation lets you start with photographs instead. You take five pictures of your smile, send them with any questions, and Dr. Korch reviews your case and comes back with an honest read: whether treatment is worth considering, roughly what it would involve, and what your options are.

It is genuinely useful if you are weighing up whether to begin at all, if the drive to Hershey is a commitment you would rather make once you know it is worthwhile, or if you simply prefer to do your research before sitting in a chair.

How It Works

1. Take five photos. Ask someone to help. It is difficult to photograph your own teeth well, and the photos are the whole basis of the review.

2. Send them to us using the form on this page, along with anything you want to ask or are worried about.

3. Dr. Korch reviews your case and replies with personalized feedback and recommended options. Our team follows up with next steps if you want them.

There is no obligation at the end of it.

How to Photograph Your Smile

When taking your photos, please sit in a  well-lit room with natural light if possible. For the best results, we recommend having a friend or family member take the photos for you, as it can be difficult to capture clear images on your own.

If you have any questions about the process or the form,  please contact our office-we’re always happy to help.

How to Photograph Your Smile

Good photos make the review worthwhile, and they are easy to get right:

  • Sit in a well-lit room, ideally with natural daylight rather than overhead light.
  • Have someone else take them. Front camera selfies distort, and you cannot see what you are capturing.
  • Get in close so your teeth fill the frame, and hold still enough that the image is sharp.
  • Show your bite as well as your smile: front, and both sides with your teeth together.

If you are unsure at any point, call us on (717) 533-7400 and we will talk you through it.

What This Is, and What It Is Not

A virtual consultation is a preliminary review, and we would rather be clear about that than oversell it.

From photographs, Dr. Korch can see a great deal: crowding, spacing, how your teeth meet at the front, and whether your case looks straightforward or complex. That is enough to tell you whether treatment is worth pursuing and roughly what it would involve.

What photographs cannot show is what is happening below the surface. A firm treatment plan and an exact fee need an in-office exam with X-rays and a proper look at your bite. That exam is also free.

So think of this as the honest answer to “is this worth my time,” not as a diagnosis.

Already in Treatment Somewhere Else?

If you have started treatment elsewhere and are considering moving, photographs are a reasonable place to begin that conversation too. Send them along with a note about where your treatment stands and we will tell you what finishing it here would involve.
